On 24th November 2025, the School of Education convened for the annual Teaching Practice Post-Mortem Workshop under the theme “From Practice to Professionalism: Lessons and Insights from Teaching Practice.” The forum brought together students and teachers who undertook Teaching Practice between May and August 2025, creating a vibrant space for reflection, shared learning, and professional growth. Their experiences ignited meaningful conversations on what it truly takes to transition from a trainee to a confident, competent educator.
The DVC-ASA, Prof. Godfrey Netondo, together with the lecturers and school principals, and students enriched the discussions with valuable insights that bridged classroom realities and institutional expectations. Their contributions provided a holistic understanding of the teaching landscape and highlighted the importance of mentorship in shaping effective educators.
The event not only celebrated the resilience and dedication of our future teachers but also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to fostering quality mentorship, reflective practice, and professional preparedness. Together, we charted a clearer path toward excellence in teaching—one grounded in authentic experiences, shared wisdom, and a collective resolve to nurture inspiring educators.
