The University of Eldoret is a Public University chartered in 2013, with seven (7) schools namely; Agriculture and Biotechnology; Arts and Human Development; Business, Economics and Management Sciences; Education; Engineering; Environmental Sciences & Natural Resource Management; Science; having over 12,000 students, 1,056 employees and land measuring 1,057 acres. The University has a Vision of being a “premier university that nurtures global leaders and innovators” and a Mission of “providing quality education, training, research and consultancy in Science, Agriculture and Technology to meet the needs and aspirations of a dynamic society”.
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 10(1)(c) of the University of Eldoret Charter, 2013 and Statutes, the University in line with its mandate, is pleased to invite members of the public to participate in the nomination process for the prestigious award of honorary degrees to recognize and celebrate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and service to the society.
We welcome nominations for individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields, whether it be academia, research, public service, entrepreneurship, arts, culture, or philanthropy. Nominees should embody the values and mission of our institution and serve as inspirational role models for our students and the wider community.
Criteria for Nomination:
- Demonstrated excellence and leadership in their field of expertise.
- Outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge, society, or humanity.
- Positive impact on the local, national, or global community.
- Alignment with the values and mission of the University of Eldoret.
Submission Guidelines
Interested members of the public are invited to submit a completed nomination form and a formal letter detailing the nominee's qualifications and contributions.
Nominations should include a comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV) of the nominee, highlighting their achievements and credentials.
Supporting documents such as publications, awards, and testimonials may also be included to strengthen the nomination.

A candidate for an honorary degree must attend a convocation ceremony to receive the degree in person, except in unusual circumstances and only at the discretion of Senate. Honorary Degrees are not awarded posthumously, nor are they generally awarded to persons holding political office or a current appointment at the University of Eldoret.
