Management and staff who were all thrilled to see her in person.
An afternoon with the Smiling Queen of the Track
Her nickname the "smiling destroyer" does not for a moment speak of the humility and grace that she possesses. Her smile is from the heart and her determination and focus is etched on her face. The triple Olympic Gold medalist and record holder is truly a gem to the nation of Kenya.
Faith Kipyegon spent the afternoon on campus and she is loved!
Ms. Faith Kipyegon paid a courtesy call and met with the members of the University Council. The Chair of Council, Dr. Ismail Hassan welcomed her to the University community and thanked her for accepting to be the first Honorary Degree of the University of Eldoret recipient adding to the many firsts she has in her basket. In his remarks he said the Council members looked forward to her being a shining beacon to the young adults on campus, mentoring and inspiring them to great heights of success. Ms. Kipyegon, with a lovely smile expressed her joy at being the awardee and looked forward to being a member of the flame of knowledge and innovation and mostly interacting with the students and the University community.
Ms. Kipyegon thereafter planted a tree at the University gardens to commemorate the beginning of her journey with the University.
Faith is truly a lady with poise and lots of humility. She patiently smiled and posed as colleagues and students as she took pictures with colleagues and staff as she walked through the campus.
Join Us! on Thursday 21st November 2024 as we confer Ms. Faith Kipyegon the Doctor of Education (Honoris Causa) of the University of Eldoret during the 13th Graduation Ceremony.
