Robert Otuya PhD is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Marketing at the University of Eldoret. He received his PhD in Business Administration from Kabarak University and MBA from Moi University. He also holds a Higher Diploma in Entrepreneurship Development and a Diploma in Education from Kenya Technical Teachers College.

Prof Otuya has teaching experience of over 25 years in tertiary and university institutions. He has authored a must-read textbook titled: "Entrepreneurship: The Drive to Innovation" and is currently working on a handbook titled: "A Winning Business Plan". In addition, he is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya and is actively involved in research with 35 articles in refereed Journals and conferences. One of his articles earned him the best paper award presented at the 13th International Academy of African Business and Development Conference hosted by El Jadida Polydisplinary University Eljadida, Morocco.

His dedication to research and innovation and engagement with students’ staff in the School of Business and Management Sciences earned the Enactus club two runners-up Trophies and Ford Foundation Innovation funding for two consecutive years 2017 and 2018.

His future expectations are to develop a full-fledged student academic mentoring program that will enhance the progression and completion rate of students joining the school. In addition, he will promote teaching, research, outreach, and consultancy services among the staff and students. Students will be encouraged to identify problems in the community and develop innovations that can be commercialized to solve the problems. He will also continue to develop strong linkages with the industry to enable students to acquire skills that meet industry and market needs.
