Prof. Cheruiyot who takes over the reign from Prof. Wilson K. Ng’etich who has been acting as the Vice-Chancellor from 9th June 2023 to date, will be the Second Vice-Chancellor in the History of the University.

The new Vice-Chancellor comes into office with vast leadership and academic prowess, having served in various leadership positions before his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Eldoret. He also brings broad a wealth of management and academic experience achieved as a Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), sustainability, and Strategy at Moi University.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Strategic Management (Moi University-Kenya, 2010); a Master of Management Sciences (Wageningen University-Netherlands, 1999), and a Bachelor in Agribusiness Management (Egerton University-Kenya, 1995).

He has demonstrable experience in transformative and strategic leadership having served substantively with measurable results in the positions of Director, at the Centre for Strategic Leadership Development at Moi University; acting Principal at Bomet University College; acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Finance; Dean, School of Business and Economics and Head of Department, Accounting and Finance all at Moi University.
