Dr. Rop has PhD in Plant Pathology from Moi University, M.Sc. Plant Sciences from Wageningen University, Netherlands, and BSc. Agriculture from Larenstein – Netherlands.

Dr. Rop is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Department of Seed, Crop and Horticultural Sciences. He has served at the University of Eldoret since 2008 as a lecturer and researcher in the field of Plant Sciences, focusing on research in Plant Pathology. He has also participated in the development of BSc. In Agriculture, BSc. In Horticultural Sciences and MSc. In Plant Protection programmes that are currently being offered in the Department.

Dr. Rop is an accomplished scholar, and researcher and has supervised several undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is a reviewer and has published several manuscripts for local and international journals. He has examined MSc and PhD theses.

As the Dean School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Dr. Rop would like to steer the school to higher standards building on the achievement of the predecessors to ensure that we produce qualified graduates for global market who are innovative in addressing the needs and aspirations of a dynamic society.
