The University of Eldoret International Students Association (ISA) in collaboration with the Outreach & International Students Centre (OISC) and aligned to the University’s Corporate Social Responsibility visited Holy Family Children’s Home located along Eldoret-Iten Road at Kimumu. The centre is managed by the St. Barnabas Catholic Church under the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. The home takes care of the orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) as young as one month old.
International students from both main campus and town campus joined hands with the OISC staff and visited the children’s home donating various items which included food stuff, personal effects, sanitary towels and washing soap.
This act of charity is an exercise that brings hope to the people in our society who need love, compassion and hope as they go through many challenges in life. University of Eldoret has been in forefront in responding, when called upon, to support the vulnerable members of the society.
The sister in-charge thanked the University of Eldoret students for visiting the children’s home and giving a donation to the children. She encouraged the University to continue with the good work and reach out to other less fortunate people in the society.
