Food and nutrition security is a key component to creating food and nutrition sustainability.
Our Ph.D. Candidate from the School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Henry Tamba Nyuma, exhibited and talked about his study to various participants at the ongoing RUFORUM conference in Windhoek, Namibia between August 12th - 16th, 2024.
Henry's study aims to 'Assess the Potential of Fortified-Pelletized Agroforestry Organic Amendments for Enhanced Soil Fertility Under Small Holder Agriculture in SSA.'
From his initial findings, the advantages of organic pellets are the improvement of soil fertility (soil ecology), recycling of organic resources (circular economy), reduced use of chemical fertilizer (socio-economic), reduction of carbon emission (carbon sequestration), and ease of transportation and storage (socio-economic).
Henry Tamba Nyumba is our postgraduate student from Liberia pursuing his doctorate degree in Soil Science. During one of the presentations, Henry was with his 2 Deans: Dr. Nicholas Rop - Dean, School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, University of Eldoret and Assoc. Prof. Leroy W. Cegbe - Dean, College of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Liberia.
Second RUFORUM Triennial Conference 2024 theme;
