Dr. Ismail Buro Hassan, the Chair of the University Council and Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot, the UoE Vice-Chancellor hosted the President of Life University Dr. Rob Scott and the Vice-President Global Initiatives Dr. John Downes to cement the relationship between the 2 institutions. The 2 Life University Alumni, Dr. Josephine Kandie and Dr. Silah Misoi were on hand to see their dream for the Chiropractic degree to be offered in Kenya actualize in University of Eldoret. During L.U. leadership team visit, the journey towards the implementation of the new joint programmes that will be offered at UoE was finalized.
Life University (www.life.edu) is the leading and largest Chiropractic and Holistic Health and Wellness College in the world having Graduate and Masters programmes. Their long-term goal of increasing the reach throughout the world led to the relationship with University of Eldoret.

The Life University & University of Eldoret MoU was signed in March 2021. The aim is to provide for corporation on academic activities between the two universities to strengthen mutual understanding, foster friendly corporation, and promote sustainable and productive collaboration and exchange between faculty, researchers and students. Dr. John Downes and Dr. Hussein Elsangak (Life University) visited the University of Eldoret twice (2021 and 2023) culminating in a return visit by the UoE team - Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot and Dr. Silah Misoi in July 2023. One of the deliverables was the Life University’s President Dr. Rob Scott visit to University of Eldoret. 

The introduction of Chiropractic practice to UoE has been well received and became a source of great interest and discussion amongst partners and stakeholders visited by the L.U. leadership team including the Governors of the County Governments of Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Nandi. 

Chiropractic adjustment assists to improve an athletes’ performance through natural healing and aids in preventing sports injuries while promoting better healthcare for the athletes. Chiropractic treatment is an alternative treatment that does not require use of any medical treatment but use of the Chiropractors hands to align the body accordingly.
University of Eldoret will be offering the Bachelor of Science in Sports Health Science which will feature courses in chiropractic and is a joint academic programme between UoE and Life University.
