The University of Eldoret Netball sport has both men and women’s teams. Both teams have posted good results during open tournaments and University competitions. The teams have maintained 1st position at conference level for many years under coach Ms. Stella Kiptoo, who also doubles up as the UoE athletics coach under the leadership of Kibet Rono, the Games Tutor. Nationally, both teams have consistently maintained top three positions.
UoE men’s team has dominated the sport which many believe to be a ladies’ only sport and has made the sport very interesting to watch. During the 2023 Kenya Netball Federation (KNF) selection, two students from UoE, Christovin Wanjala and Diana Aoko were identified to join the national team.
This year, in September 2024 during a KNF tournament in Trans Nzoia, two male students, Christovin Wanjala and Abel Lemaiyan, were selected to join the national team and recently traveled to Namibia for the African Netball Cup.
