The University of Eldoret wishes to reassure all students that their safety, dignity and well-being remain a priority. We recognize that students may hold different political views and affiliations. Such views should not become a source of division, intimidation, discrimination, hostility or conflict within the institution.
In this regard, students are called upon to:
- Respect one another regardless of political affiliation, background, beliefs or opinions.
- Promote cohesion and integration within their classes, departments, residences, student associations and other spaces of interaction.
- Engage in constructive and respectful dialogue when discussing divergent matters.
- Refrain from discrimination or victimization of fellow students on the basis of their views.
- Report any incidents that may threaten the safety or well-being of students through the appropriate institutional channels.
The University further reminds all students that the institution is a learning environment where diversity of views should be handled with maturity, tolerance and respect. Students are encouraged to concentrate on their academic and personal development while contributing positively to a peaceful and inclusive institutional community.
The University remains committed to providing a safe, inclusive and conducive environment for learning and will continue to work with students and staff to promote cohesion, integration and peaceful coexistence.
Thank you.
