Eng. Dr. Clement Kiprotich Kiptum is the current Dean of the School of Engineering. He has Bachelor of Technology in Civil and Structural Engineering from Moi University; Master of Philosophy in Water Engineering from Moi University; and Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Earth Science from University of Eldoret. Dr. Kiptum is a lecturer of Water Engineering and teaches both Undergraduate and post graduate courses.

He is a professional Engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya and Corporate Member in The Institution of Engineers of Kenya. He is the current treasurer of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (Western Branch).

Before being appointed as Dean in July, 2021, he had served at various levels including being a representative of the School of Engineering at the Board of Postgraduate Studies. He also coordinated Final year projects as well as being Departmental Online and Distance Learning coordinator. At the school level, he is part of the school research and innovation committee. Indeed, Eng. Dr. Kiptum has managed to guide students to emerge top during the innovation week at the University for two consecutive years.

Eng. Dr. Kiptum worked as an Expatriate lecturer in Rwanda. While at University of Rwanda (Umutara Polytechnic) he served as the Head of Department in Building and Construction Technology. Eng. Dr. Kiptum has attended a number of international and local conferences where he presented papers.

Aside from classroom, Dr. Kiptum is a dedicated servant and mentor to engineering students.
