Dr. Betty Korir is a senior researcher with research focus areas in Mathematics (Biostatistics), Probability Theory, Statistical Modelling, time series Analysis, and Estimation/time series Analysis.

Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science having attained promotion from the ranks of tutorial fellow and lecturer, with a teaching experience of more than 20 years at the university level. She has been an external examiner in the School of Pure and Applied Science at Karatina University and an adjunct lecturer in the School of Physical Sciences at Maasai Mara University.

She has published widely in internationally referred journals and participated in conferences/seminars. She is a registered member of the Kenya National Statistical Society (KNSS).  She has supervised postgraduate students both at the M. Sc and Ph.D. levels.

Administratively, she was the Head of Department, Mathematics & Computer Science a position held for five years (2014_2019). She served in various university committees; the Board of Research & Innovation, the Appeal Disciplinary Committee, and many others. She participated in the formulation of the UoE Strategic Plan (2019_2024) and was a member of the Monitoring & Evaluation committee.

Nationally, she served on the board of Directors of Lake Victoria South Water Services Board (LVSWSB) and in the government agency (REREC) formally Rural Electrification Authority (REA).

She has added skills in strategic management, performance contracting, leadership, team player, and competence with self-drive.
