We present Dr. Faith Kipyegon, EGH, the Smiling Queen of the Track

The first Honorary Degree of the University of Eldoret was conferred to Faith Kipyegon, EGH (now Dr. Faith Kipyegon). She was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Education, Honoris Causa (Hon.D.Ed.).

In January 2024 a call was issued for members of the public to nominate individuals for the award of the honorary degree. The call closed on March 31, 2024. The Honorary Degree Committee led by Prof. Vincent Sudoi assessed the nominations and the first recipient was declared to be Faith Kipyegon, EGH.

School of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management Profile

The School of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management came into operation/existence year (2022), as an outcome of the merger between the schools of Environmental Studies and Natural Resource Management.

The school specializes and undertakes Teaching Research, Consultancy, Outreach and Extension in the broad fields of Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management in Kenya and beyond.

School of Engineering Profile

The School of Engineering was founded in June 2011 and continues to offer quality engineering training by embracing the culture of hard work, honesty, creativity, innovativeness and lifelong learning. The school offers Agricultural and Bio Systems Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering and Mechanical and Production Engineering.

School of Business Economics and Management Sciences Profile

The vision of the School of Business, Economics and Management Sciences is: ‘A premier School that nurtures global leaders and innovators through provision of quality education, training, research and consultancy in Business Management, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Hotel and Hospitality and Project Management. Pursuant to this vision, the School constantly monitors developments in its environment and the world at large.

School of Arts and Human Development Profile

Welcome to the School of Arts and Human Development. The school has three departments namely: Development Studies; Communication, Languages and Literature; and Humanities.  The departments offer Common Courses, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

Specifically, the following common courses are offered to undergraduate students: Quantitative Skills, Communication Skills, Languages, Literature, HIV/AIDS and Gender, State Society and Development, Research Methods and Analysis, Geography, History and Religious Studies.

The School of Science was established in 1990 and has since grown and evolved into the heart of STEM training at the University of Eldoret, serving over 75% of the student population. The school conducts training in foundational and specialized courses in the basic and applied sciences. The School of Science's vision is to be a world-class center in pursuit of scientific knowledge.
