The International Students’ Food Day Held on 4th March, 2024

It was a beehive of activities at the Outreach and International Student’s Centre on 4th March, 2024 when International Students from different regions of Africa came together to showcase the different types of foods from their home countries. This is an annual event organized by the Centre where the students get a chance to showcase cuisines from their countries. The colorful event brought together international students from both Main and Town Campus.

Chama Cha Kiswahili Katika Chuo Kikuu Cha Eldoret (CHAKIUOE) ni Chama ambacho kilianzishwa mwaka wa 2016 kwa madhumuni ya kuwapa wapenzi wa lugha ya Kiswahili jukwaa maridhawa la kushabikia Kiswahili, kuinua viwango vya utafiti na hata kulea vipaji vya wanafunzi katika sanaa zinazofungamana na lugha ya Kiswahili.

Farmers’ Training at Koibatek Farmers Training College, Lembus Perkerra Ward, Eldama Ravine Sub County, Baringo on 15th March 2024

The University of Eldoret, Outreach and International Students’ Centre (OISC) in collaboration with the Koibatek Farmers Training College (KFTC) and the Department of Agriculture, Baringo County organized for a one-day farmers’ training on Climate Smart Agriculture on Friday, 15th March 2024.  The training was organized following a request from the KFTC through the Department of Agriculture, Baringo County. One hundred and eighteen (118) participants attended the training.

University Staff Competitively Selected for The Academic and Research Fellowships for International Relations (IR) Experts (Interussia Research Fellowship)

Dr. Peter Kirui of the Department of Humanities, School of Arts and Human Development has been competitively selected for the prestigious InteRussia Spring Fellowship taking place at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation between 17th March 2024 and 28th April, 2024. Dr. Kirui is a seasoned lecturer who teaches History, Governance and Political Studies at University of Eldoret and is the immediate Head of Humanities Department.

The Presidents Award - Kenya University of Eldoret Unit Gold Residential Project and Adventurous Journey

As part of the Presidents Award requirement, the University of Eldoret Unit Gold participants took part in the Residential Project at Kaptere Primary School in Elgeyo Marakwet County, while the Silver and Bronze participants participated in the adventurous journey in Kerio Valley region for 5 days. 49 students from the Schools of Agriculture & Biotechnology, Business, Economics & Management Sciences, Education, Engineering and Science took part in the exercise which sponsored by the University of Eldoret Student Welfare and under their patron /  award leader Dr. Emily J.

University Council Members visit to the University Projects and Facilities

Recently appointed University Council members were treated to a comprehensive tour of both the Main Campus and the Eldoret Town Campus, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot. This tour served as part of their induction program, offering them a firsthand look at the operational facets of the University. The itinerary included visits to various key facilities such as the new Site, the Amphitheater (currently under construction), the tree nursery, the University Farm, the Fish Hatchery, and the Outreach center.
