The 9th International Interdisciplinary Conference (9IIC-2024)

In order to meet our Vision and Mission, the University usually hold bi-annual International Interdisciplinary Conference in order to promote the discovery, invention, application and dissemination of new knowledge through research and innovation. In this financial year, the University under the Directorate of Research and Innovation has held two conferences for the different schools namely the 8IIC-2023 Conference and the 9IIC-2024 Conference.

Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) Technical Training Held at The Outreach Centre from 22nd To 26th April 2024

The Outreach and International Students’ Centre (OISC) in collaboration with Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) held a one-week technical training as part of the MoU implementation. It was conducted under the KCIC’s ‘Vijana na Agribiz’ project. A total of seventy-five (75) Incubatees attended the training which was held at the OISC from Monday, 22nd to Friday, 26th April 2024 and it focused on three value chains; Horticulture Production, Apiculture and Aquaculture.

A. Horticultural Production

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Audit (EA) Training 13th May 2024 - 31st May 2024

The  Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and  Environmental Audit (EA) Training,  a 3-week intensive course, began on 13th May 2024. The training is done under an approved National  Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) and the University of Eldoret SES 805 Curriculum.

National Tree Planting Day - May 10th, 2024

The UoE Community, led by Prof. Beatrice Were, the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Students' Affairs), representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot, planted trees as a living tribute to the lives lost during the recent floods and the families affected by the tragedy.

Our planet Earth will taken care of as we plant more trees. We are mitigating climate change and creating an environmental haven for future generations.

The North-Rift Herbalists Clinic and Cultural Centre Launch

The Directorate of Industrial Linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations (ILPC) core mandate is to promote linkages, partnerships and collaboration with Industry, Research Institutions, County Governments, Government Agencies, organized community groups and institutions of higher learning.  The main purpose of the Directorate is to advance mutual interests, shared goals, ideas and information, which aims at increased bilateral and multilateral agreements/memorandum of understandings (MoU) tailored towards achieving institutional and national goals like the Kenya Vision 2030.

University Don receives Assorted Tree Seeds from the Ministry of Education

Aligning to the call to plant 15 billion trees by the year 2032, and 10 billion trees by 2027, the University has received assorted seeds, both indigenous and exotic, from the Ministry of Education in partnership with Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).

The assorted tree seeds were presented to the University by Mr. Abdi Kea from the State Department for Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Education and received by Dr. Chris Saina, the School of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management, at the KEFRI Seed Centre in Muguga, Nairobi.

Regulations for The Continuing Exams

To: All Students

This is to inform you that for those who have not cleared their school fees should clear in full.  Those whose authorization letters are valid upto 26th April, 2024 should come for other new authorization letters after paying the fees in full. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to continue with your exams from next week 29th Monday, April 2024. For those who have already cleared fees should request another new authorization letter from Registrar Academics.

Outreach and International Students’ Centre Team At Kass International

Outreach and International Students’ Centre (OISC) in collaboration with the Soil Science Department held a one-hour live Radio and one-hour live TV talk-shows at KASS media group. The topic covered was soil testing and fertilizer use in response to the various requests from North Rift on importance of soil testing. The discussants were Dr. Abigael N. Otinga, the Head of Soil Science Department assisted by Mr. Hillary Ketem from the Outreach and International Students’ Centre.
