The University hosted the 17th Agribusiness Trade Fair 2024 on September 12th, 13th and 14th 2024. This year the theme was “Promoting Climate Smart Agri-preneurship and Value Addition to Spur Industrialization for Sustainable Development.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot signed an MoU with Dr. Erick Rutto, President of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) in the presence of Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh, the Principal Secretary, State Department for Agriculture; Hon. Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, the Governor of the County Government of Uasin Gishu; Prof. Elijah Songok, the Ag. Director General at Kenya Medical Research Institute and Dr. Ismail Buro Hassan, University of Eldoret Chair of Council.

This is to inform all students that lectures have resumed following the university staff's call-off of industrial action.

11th Students Council members:

As is tradition, the Agribusiness Stakeholders were hosted to dinner by the University Council and Management on Friday 13th September 2024. This was an interactive session where our stakeholders had time to unwind after two days of engaging with the farmers and agripreneurs. As they congratulated the Organizing Committee led by Prof. Miriam Kinyua, the sponsors and exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with the trade fair organization and farmers mobilization. Next stop is the 2025 Agribusiness Trade Fair to which they committed to participate.

For the third year running, our financial partners, National Bank of Kenya were Platinum Sponsors during the 17th Agribusiness Trade Fair.

The sponsorship cheque was presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot in the presence of the Agribusiness Trade Fair Vice-Chairperson, Dr. David Kios.

The National Bank team was led by Ms. Sylvia Mwai – Sector Head, Institutional Banking. She was accompanied by Mr. Nicholas Okello – Relationship Manager Institutions, Mr. David Mutai – Eldoret Branch Manager and Mr. Brian Kipkemboi – Sales Manager, Rift Region.

The Directorate of Gender Equity and Diversity in collaboration with the UoE Health department held the first ever one day Women’s Health and Wellness Conference at University of Eldoret. This is a great milestone for University of Eldoret in supporting women’s health concerns that are often overlooked by employers.

The University of Eldoret, United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), and MCN (Millennium Campus Network) are proud to present the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2024, an ambitious program to help make the Sustainable Development Goals and UNAI principles a reality.  Millennium Fellows were selected from a record-breaking 52,581 applicants to join the Class of 2024, hailing from 6,000+ universities worldwide.  The Class of 2024 consists of 4,000+ driven undergraduates at 280+ universities in 48 nations.  

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot welcomed the new cohort of first-year students to the University of Eldoret, ushering them into the beginning of their University academic journey. The advise from the Vice-Chancellor and members of the University Management Board provided invaluable insights and guidance to the incoming students.
