University of Eldoret Drama Club excels at the National KUPAA Drama Festival

After successfully competing during the Regional KUPAA Drama Festival, the UoE Drama Club proceeded to the National KUPAA Drama Festival held at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology showcasing the various Performing Arts Categories, Beauty Pageantry, and Fine Art. The team won 4 Trophies,  2 Sashes, a Tiara and were presented with Certificates.

Seminar by Partners from VIVES University, Belgium

To enhance further our engagement as per our partnership with VIVES University from Belgium, the University in collaboration with the Directorate of Industrial Linkages, Partnerships and Collaboration and the Directorate of Research and Innovation played host to a delegation from VIVES University comprising Dr. Ir. Isabel Vanslembrouck; Director of Research and Valorisation and Mr. Evert Cottyn the International Coordinator for Technology on 6th December 2023.

Prof. Thomas K. Cheruiyot installed University of Eldoret’s 2nd Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Thomas Kimeli Cheruiyot was officially installed as the 2nd Vice-Chancellor of the University of Eldoret in a rich colourful function during the 12th Graduation Ceremony held at the University Pavilion grounds on Thursday 30th November, 2023. 

The installation was a significant milestone in the University’s history as we received a well-tested and tried visionary leader whose dedication, expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence has been widely recognized through his academic and administrative career.

Over 3,000 Graduate during the 12th Graduation Ceremony

University of Eldoret held its 1st physical graduation after 5 virtual graduation ceremonies where 3,178 graduands were conferred with degrees and awarded diplomas during a colorful graduation ceremony presided over by the Ag. Chancellor, Dr. Ismail Buro. The congregation witnessed the installation of the 2nd Vice-Chancellor, marked with academic pomp and color, as Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot received the instruments of power, the University Mace, The University Statutes and Charter, the University Seal, the University Logo and the University Academic Programmes.

ENABLE Youth Kenya programme

2023 Updates

ENABLE Youth Kenya programme is a four-year Programme implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and co-funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB). University of Eldoret (UoE) is one of the Youth Agribusiness Incubation Centre (YABIC) for implementing the Programme. The YABICS provide facilities for training under identified value chains that are specific to the institution. The value chains identified for UoE YABIC are Animal/Dairy Production, Fisheries and Mushroom Production. This Programme is open for Diploma and Degree graduates from any field.

Wheat and Dolichos Varieties Research at University of Eldoret

Prof. Miriam G. Kinyua has been conducting very successful research projects towards production of novel varieties of cash and food crops in Kenya. Prof. Kinyua who is an alumni of University of Nairobi where she did her BSc., MSc., and PhD. She is a recipient of Presidential award Order of the Grand Warrior for contribution to food security through research. Before joining the University of Eldoret, Prof Kinyua was involved in research at KARI (now KALRO) where she developed and released over 10 varieties.
