Prof. Balozi K. Bekuta is an Associate Professor in the School of Natural Resource Management, Department of Forestry and Wood Science. He joined the University in 2008 as a lecturer when it was still part of Moi University. Prof. Balozi K. Bekuta holds a BSc. Forestry (Second Class Honours, Upper Division; Moi University, 1990); MSc. (Forestry Science – University of Canterbury, New Zealand, 1996); Certificate of Proficiency (Forest Silviculture, Forest Management, and Forest Management Applications – University of Canterbury, New Zealand, 1996), and an earned PhD.
Prof. Makwali holds Ph.D. Parasitology (Moi University), MPhil. Parasitology (Moi University), BSc. BOT/ZOO (Moi University), and Dip. Protozoan Diseases (Obihiro Univ. of Agric. and Vet. Medicine, Japan).
Prof. Makwali joined the University of Eldoret in 1995 when it was a campus of Moi University as a Graduate Assistant where she rose through the various academic ranks. Currently, she is a senior lecturer at the Department of Biological Sciences. Her area of expertise is Parasitology/Immunology with a specialization in Protozoan Diseases Therapy and Control.
Prof. Lizzy Mwamburi is an Associate Professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Eldoret. She is a graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (SA) (PhD), University of Melbourne (Australia) (MSc), and Moi University (MSc). In addition, she carried out her postdoctoral research studies at Gottingen University, Germany.
Prof. Betty Korir is a senior researcher with research focus areas in Mathematics (Biostatistics), Probability Theory, Statistical Modelling, time series Analysis, and Estimation/time series Analysis.
Prof. Gertrude Were is a nutritionist by profession and a registered member of the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians’ Institute (KNDI). Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences with a teaching experience of 30 years at university level. She has mentored many students both at M. Sc and PhD level, has published several scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and co-authored three books in her discipline.
Prof. Samuel Lutta is an associate professor of Chemistry and holds PhD in inorganic chemistry. He is a subject expert in inorganic chemistry, material science, and environmental chemistry.
Prof. Samuel Lutta holds a B.Ed (Hons) from Egerton University, an MSc (Chemistry) from Egerton University, and a Ph.D. (Inorganic Chemistry) from State University New York - Binghamton USA. He was awarded a Commonwealth fellowship in 2012 to do a Postdoc at the University of Strathclyde in the UK.
