University of Eldoret Recertified to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System

University of Eldoret was first certified to the ISO 9001:2008 on 20th June, 2016 and transited to the revised ISO 9001:2015 Standard in 2018. Upon successful implementation of the requirements of this Standard, the University was re-certified in December 2021 marking the beginning of the 2nd cycle of certification which ended in May 2024.   In June 2024, a re-certification audit was conducted by the Kenya Bureau of Standards Auditors namely: Mrs. Florence Ouma (Team Leader), Mrs. Isabella Lunani and Mr. Wilson Koskey.

Life University adds ‘life’ to University of Eldoret

Dr. Ismail Buro Hassan, the Chair of the University Council and Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot, the UoE Vice-Chancellor hosted the President of Life University Dr. Rob Scott and the Vice-President Global Initiatives Dr. John Downes to cement the relationship between the 2 institutions. Life University Leadership Team Tour the University

Dr. Rob Scott, President of Life University and Dr. John Downes, Vice-President of Global Initiatives and Dr. Josephine Kandie were taken on a guided tour of the University where they visited the School of Business, Economics and Management Sciences and met with the Dean, Dr. Caroline Ayuma. Thereafter they visited the School of Health Sciences and met with the Ag. Dean, Dr. Evelyne Rotich. As the progammes are centred around sports, the University’s Sports Grounds were visited.

University of Eldoret Netball Team

The University of Eldoret Netball sport has both men and women’s teams. Both teams have posted good results during open tournaments and University competitions. The teams have maintained 1st position  at conference level for many years under coach Ms. Stella Kiptoo, who also doubles up as the UoE athletics coach under the leadership of Kibet Rono, the Games Tutor.  Nationally, both teams have consistently maintained top three positions.

Collaboration between Kenyatta National Hospital and the University of Eldoret

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and the University of Eldoret (UoE) have joined together to contribute to the government's goal of planting 15 billion trees by 2032 to ensure environment sustainability. A delegation from KNH Climate Change committee unit visited the University to discuss the collaborative tree-planting initiative.

The Competency-Based Education (CBE) Training

Acknowledging that the first cohort of CBC students will be transitioning to the University in 2029, the CBC Preparedness Committee, under the leadership of Dr. Hoseah Kiplagat (Dean, School of Education), in conjunction with the Commission of Education (CUE) and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) hosted a  2-day training on Competency-Based Education (CBE) on December 16th and 17th, 2024. The training was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot, who was represented by Prof. Wilson K. Ng’etich, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration & Finance).
