Welcome to the latest update from the University of Eldoret’s Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO). The second edition of the IPMO Quarterly Bulletin (Volume 1, Issue 2, covering September–December 2025) celebrates the growing culture of innovation and entrepreneurship taking root across the university.

It is with great joy and gratitude that I reflect on my journey at the University of Eldoret. Becoming the Valedictorian class of 2025 is an achievement I could not have reached alone.
The University of Eldoret through the Directorate of Quality Assurance conducted an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System awareness seminar for members of the Student Council and Class Representatives on 10Th December, 2025.
The University of Eldoret under the Strengthening Water Assessment and Technology (SWAT) Project recently hosted a 2-day hands-on training workshop on the design, assembly, and application of low-cost, 3D-printed microscopes. The training, conducted by Mr. Per Wilhelmsson and Mr Jacob de Fine Licht, visiting collaborators from Sweden, aimed to enhance research and teaching capacity in aquatic and environmental sciences through the use of accessible and innovative microscopy tools.
On 24th November 2025, the School of Education convened for the annual Teaching Practice Post-Mortem Workshop under the theme “From Practice to Professionalism: Lessons and Insights from Teaching Practice.” The forum brought together students and teachers who undertook Teaching Practice between May and August 2025, creating a vibrant space for reflection, shared learning, and professional growth. Their experiences ignited meaningful conversations on what it truly takes to transition from a trainee to a confident, competent educator.
The University of Eldoret has taken yet another major step in strengthening its innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem under the Institutional Commercialisation Support (IS) Programme by the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA). The University welcomed KeNIA and Murang’a University of Technology for a peer evaluation exercise on 12th November 2025.
The University participated at the 9th U6 + Consortium’s International Conference, which was held between 23rd and 25th September, 2025 in Banjul Gambia. The theme of the conference was Celebrating Achievements, Addressing Challenges and Envisioning Brighter Futures for Africa. It had two physical Representatives – Prof. Lizzy Mwamburi who was a Lead Speaker in the Thematic Area of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences and Pharmacy for Better Societies, and Prof. Nicholas W.
Participants from the University of Eldoret joined colleagues from Kibabii University for the second UK-East Africa Research Management Capacity Strengthening Workshop at Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) from 10–13 November 2025. The workshop is the first part of the implementation of the Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) Research Management Capacity Building Grant of £49,994 awarded to the three institutions by the British Academy. The project is jointly led by Dr. Hilary Lynch – Head of Strategic Grants at Royal Holloway University of London, Dr.
