Dr. Julius Koech is a data scientist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Trained as a statistician, he holds a Master's degree in Medical Statistics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a PhD in Biostatistics from Moi University. Dr. Koech leverages statistical models to help organizations and institutions understand and anticipate their expected outcomes.
Dr Francis Musembi Kwale is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Eldoret, and also the Director ICT. He has special interest in Software Development, Algorithms, and Data Science.
He holds a PhD (Computer Science) from the University of Nairobi, as well as MSc (University of Nairobi), and BSc Hons (Moi University).
University of Eldoret’s Susan Maina (COM/003/21), a student from the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, has distinguished herself on the national stage by leading a team that won Second Place at the Tech for Agriculture Hackathon 2025, held in Kisumu from 6–8 November 2025. The hackathon was a high-intensity, 48-hour prototype-building event organised by Garage48, AfriFortified, and partners from Estonia, bringing together innovators from across Kenya to develop technology solutions for some of the country’s most pressing food and farming challenges.
